Tensile Properties of Bagasse Fiber Composites

چکیده

Bagasse is a waste generated in abundance from the sugarcane industry. This investigation was planned to convert bagasse into useful composite. For this purpose obtained sugar cane juice producer. In study, extraction of fibers done manually and they were treated with sodium hydroxide. The had higher tensile properties as compared untreated ones, so alkali used reinforcement for making composites. Hand lay-up technique manufacture composite samples. fiber length (1 inch 2 inch) weight percentage (10 wt% 20 wt%) considered variables. It found that better (2 (20 wt%). Bagasse-cotton fabric composites also produced using cotton base material sandwiched between printed plain fabric. idea consider these sun-shades or decorative purposes. bagasse-cotton reinforced strength strain; however modulus reduced due elongation fabrics. With increase might be because during manufacturing epoxy resin pass through wet out not wetted properly. phenomenon needs further investigation.

Bagasse Fiber Composites-A Review

A composite material is made by combining two or more materials to give a unique combination of properties, one of which is made up of stiff, long fibres and the other, a binder or 'matrix' which holds the fibres in place. The fibres are strong and stiff relative to the matrix and are generally orthotropic. More recently natural fibers have been employed in combination with plastics. The abunda...

Creep behavior of bagasse fiber reinforced polymer composites.

The creep behavior of bagasse-based composites with virgin and recycled polyvinyl chloride (B/PVC) and high density polyethylene (B/HDPE) as well as a commercial wood and HDPE composite decking material was investigated. The instantaneous deformation and creep rate of all composites at the same loading level increased at higher temperatures. At a constant load level, B/PVC composites had better...

Influence of Fiber Orientation and Thickness on Tensile Properties of Laminated Polymer Composites

The objective of this research was to gain a better understanding of tensile properties of epoxy resin composites reinforced with glass fiber. The effect of fiber orientation & thickness of laminates has been investigated & experimentation was performed to determine property data for material specifications, the laminates were obtained by hand layup process. The laminates were cut to obtain AST...

Evaluation of Flexural and Tensile Properties of Short Kenaf Fiber Reinforced Green Composites

The present work study flexural and tensile behavior of short Kenaf fiber reinforced composites. The fibers are chemically treated in 2% NaOH solution at room temperature. Short fibers of 4mm and 8 mm are used in the present work. The composite lamina is prepared by hand molding using isopthalic polyester resin. Flexural test and tension tests are carried out as per ASTM standards. The flexural...
